The ribbon cutting culminates two years of planning and fundraising efforts by the Concord Rotary Club.

While the club has provided many years of service to the community since it was founded in 1922, the playground is the largest single project that it has undertaken to date.  Club members raised $110,000 in one year with a raffle fundraiser, donations from club members and area businesses as well as grants from Rotary District 7680, The Cannon Foundation and the Hayes Charitable Trust.
