Charlotte South Offers 4-Way Test Essay Prize

The Charlotte-South Rotary Club is offering a $500 college scholarship to a South Mecklenburg High School senior for the winning essay on the subject of Rotary’s Four-Way Test.

Any topic may be chosen that will utilize the Four-Way Test in a general or specific way. However, the essay must include all four principals, and describe how these principles relate to the topic presented. Essays should be between 500 -1,000 words. Judging will be based on utilization and application of the principles of the Four-Way Test, creativity, organization and language/grammar. The submission deadline is March 15.

The winner’s name and essay will be posted on the Charlotte-South Rotary club website, and the certificate of scholarship will be presented to the winner at the May 16 club luncheon at Zebra Restaurant. Payment will be sent directly to the educational institution the student will attend.

Applicants must reside in Charlotte, be a graduating senior at South Mecklenburg High School, and have been accepted to an accredited institution of higher education or vocational training program.
